Riverie is inspired by the journey of self-discovery. It combines the concepts of "river" and "reverie"—a flow of dreams cascading as a waterfall. This tower-like structure rises from a wooden base wrapped in fabric to mimic the shifting currents of water, grounding the hands reaching upward. Each clay hand, crafted from recycled materials and set on small, familiar cardboard boxes from my home, becomes part of an upward journey, fueled by resilience and growth.
Sustainability shaped my creative process, transforming the discarded into layers of identity, a reminder that we carry pieces of ourselves from every moment in every object. Waves of colour sweep over the piece, evoking inner restlessness, hidden under a composed exterior.
The hands symbolize the ongoing fight for self-empowerment and the hope of discovery, echoing my portfolio’s theme of self-perception. Like the river’s pull, life draws us upward through the currents of our experiences. Shaping us with every step and layer.
