This 3D hanging sculpture, crafted from melted plastic CDs, resembles a bouquet of tampons. It challenges the stigma surrounding menstruation and reclaims it as a symbol of strength. Each CD, moulded into translucent, petal-like forms and painted in bold reds, transforms a forgotten object into something beautiful yet confrontational. I wanted to capture the complexity of femininity—both delicate and resilient—through a nod to power, life, and the taboo surrounding periods.

For me, tampons symbolize the resilience embedded in womanhood, a strength often hidden and unspoken. The white strings that suspend them add tension, bridging the natural and artificial, and invite viewers to confront their own perceptions of femininity and menstruation. By turning tampons into a form of art, I aimed to dismantle societal shame, celebrating the beauty and power within what’s often concealed. This piece reflects my belief in reclaiming the feminine experience as something proud and empowering.
